Here are some ways you can help out deserving local charitable groups.
Adopt a Pet
The Georgian Triangle Humane Society (GTHC) harbours more animals in need of assistance as the weather grows colder, and you can help by adopting one of these animals. To view animals currently up for adoption, visit www.gths.ca. You may also help by donating to the GTHS which operates solely on donations and money from fundraising efforts.
Donate a coat
Safe ‘n Sound Grey Bruce collects outerwear during a winter coat drive. Partnered with the United Way of Grey Bruce, the organization collects winter coats, boots, mittens and other cold weather gear for those in need.
Donate to the local food bank
You’ll find many opportunities to donate to Golden Town Outreach, including a drive next Saturday (November 22) by the Georgian Shores Bantam Rep hockey players, who’ll be out and about collecting items.
Buy a calendar
The 2015 Meaford Rotary Cash Calendar features a year’s worth of works by the Meaford Creative Arts Association – and you can win a monthly draw for $200. But best of all, you support the good work Meaford Rotary does in our community.
More worthy local charities in the spotlight next time.
