While you can give at any time of the year, helping those in need at this time of year can bring an extra glow.
Home Horizon now has a Meaford office. The organization, which provides transitional housing to families in crisis, launched in Collingwood in 2006, and has helped dozens of local families with housing and counselling. Located at 36 Trowbridge Street East, Unit 7, the Meaford office offers transitional housing support, crisis counseling for local women in need, life skills workshops, and the Strong Women Mentoring Rural Outreach Program.
The Meaford Community Fund exists to enrich the quality of life for the people of the Municipality of Meaford by supporting projects of not-for-profit charitable organizations. All donations to the Fund are invested in a pool of funds under the umbrella of the Community Foundation Grey Bruce. The income earned from the capital is distributed through grants to applicable not-for-profit organizations only within the Municipality of Meaford.
The Meaford Hospital Foundation was established to raise, receive, and manage money for the purpose of purchasing capital equipment and building improvements at the Meaford Hospital . This funding role is critical to the hospital’s viability since the government provides few funds for capital purchases. Funds are derived from a variety of sources including gifts from individuals, clubs, associations and businesses; bequests; memorials; mail campaign and investment interest. All funds are spent exclusively for the Meaford site.
